December - April International Festival of Medieval Music, "Bugella Civitas".
June - July Festival of Classical Music.
July - September International Church Organ Festival Jazz festival at the Jazz Club (Tuesdays special Concerts).
Markets, Exhibitions, Traditional Festival
Last Sundays March/June/September : Antiques Market.
May : 'Transumanza'. A walk with the shepherds, follow their day as they take their animals back up towards the mountains. Taste their traditional cuisine, starting with a special breakfast.
June : Medieval market and magic in an old citadel by the forest. A glorious 3 day flower display at the medieval citadel of Ricetto. Every other year (next 2004).
June-September : Various art exhibitions in Biella Last Sundays April & October Paper market. Everything possible made from paper. September Festival in the mountain of Bielmonte. Set in a nature reserve, here you can taste local food and wine while admiring the stunning views.
Gastronomy
September : Various wine festivals are organised as September and October is the period of the grape harvest and production of the first wine of the year.
Mushroom picking : A learning Experience about those delicious funghi that you will be able to pick, cook and taste them.
October : A month of gastronomic delights (many of the local restaurants prepare traditional menus). 1st week end of October : A wine tasting festival at the citadel of Ricetto, where the old cantinas open their doors to the public for 3 days of local food and wine tasting. Festival of 'Maccagno' a delicious local cheese.
