You start your guided tour of historic Biella at the renaissance cloister of St. Sebastiano where a visit to the regional museum provides you with an understanding of the community’s cultural heritage.

You also visit the cathedral and the 11th century baptistery before taking the 100 year old funicular railway up to the old town which is situated on top of the Piazzo hill and which dates back to 1160.

Here you make a stop for lunch at a typical ‘taverna’.

After lunch you are guided through the arches and porticoes which are typical of this part of the town and visit some of the old palaces and noble villas from whose gardens you will see spectacular panoramic views of lower Biella and its mountain range.
